Hundreds of community members turned out for discussions and resources centered on addiction resources and recovery at 鶹’s 2nd Annual Collegiate Recovery 鶹 event on May 4 on the University’s Philadelphia campus.
Education Professor Claire Ann Sullivan, Ed.D. has been named as the 2024 recipient of the 鶹 Faculty Excellence Award, Executive Vice President & Chief of Staff Dr. Sylvia McGeary announced.
鶹’s English program proudly inducted nine students into the Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society during its inaugural ceremony on April 29. The significant event also marked the establishment of the Alpha Omega Pi chapter at 鶹 Family, representing one of the first new chapters inaugurated in the honor society’s second millennium.
鶹 continued the world’s oldest tradition of standing against sexual violence on college campuses when it hosted Take Back the Night (TBTN), a free event on April 25. The TBTN movement dates back to the 1970s when Florida State University first organized a march to bring awareness to the issue.
Nearly a dozen 鶹 students, enrolled in the Honor’s 鶹, along with the program’s director Dr. Mary Carroll Johansen, travelled by train to New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on April 20. The students spent the day exploring the museum’s vast collection of art from around the work and across the millennia.

鶹 students in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Association (SBSA) hosted their annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk on April 20. Members of the 鶹 community turned out in support of the event to raise awareness and funds to bolster suicide awareness.

鶹 School of Education professor Dr. Helen Hoffner has been fielding a number of media requests following the February release of her newest book Catholicism Everywhere: From Hail Mary Passes to Cappuccinos – How the Catholic Faith is Infused in Culture. Discussions with Dr. Hoffner on the publication have been featured through a dozen radio interviews to date. The book also was profiled in an April 16 by Dr. Jeff Mirus on the website catholicculture.org.
