ΒιΆΉΝψ has been awarded $1,324,800 in grant funding from the state of Pennsylvania for the University’s upcoming expansion at the Newtown West campus.

Pennsylvania State Senator Steve Santarsiero of the 10th Senatorial District and Representative Perry Warren of the 31st House of Representatives District announced the award of funding through Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital ΒιΆΉΝψ. The money ΒιΆΉΝψ Family receives will support building construction, roof work, technology upgrades and surface paving at its Newtown West campus, as well as the launch of the University’s new Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, which will include a hospital-style simulation corridor for Nursing programs, Biotechnology labs, a Business Entrepreneurship Center, and Cyber Security programs

β€œThe impact of this space is going to be a game changer for ΒιΆΉΝψ Family and Bucks County, and we are thrilled to receive this funding,” said Dr. Anne Prisco, president of ΒιΆΉΝψ. β€œAs industries evolve, we must evolve with them so that our students are exceptionally prepared to enter the workforce. This funding is going to allow us to do this. We are appreciative of the efforts of Senator Steve Santarsiero, Representative Perry Warren, and the Shapiro Administration for funding this important next phase.”

Senator Santarserio and Representative Warren both praised the impact ΒιΆΉΝψ has had on the Bucks County region and believe the Newtown West expansion will extend even more educational opportunities to students in the area.

β€œThe expansion of the ΒιΆΉΝψ Family campus in Newtown will provide additional space to offer quality education for its students, as well as an opportunity to expand the biotech incubator footprint across our county,” Senator Santarsiero said. β€œCross-collaborative projects like this will continue to grow our region as a biotech destination while exposing students to cutting-edge fields and opportunities.”

β€œWe are fortunate to have the ΒιΆΉΝψ campus at the crossroads of our communities,” Warren said. β€œThis grant will fund infrastructure improvements that will enhance ΒιΆΉΝψ Family’s educational services and will benefit current and future students, and by extension, our employers and communities.”
